Lunch
Hollywood – Walk of Fame
We planned on going to Hollywood.
We finally found some street parking,
and it was time to check out the Walk of Fame.
We started at the beginning of the Walk of Fame
but did not recognize any celebrities.
The neighborhood was looking shady and weird, a
nd there was nobody there.
When we finally made it to the recognizable stars,
we ran into a promoter.
We went off into a nice side street
to have some burgers and beer.
The promo lunch: burgers and beer.
Interestingly enough they had this leftover green beer from St. Patrick’s day.
It looked disgusting but it tasted just fine!
After the burgers and beer,
we walked over to the TLC Chinese Theatre.
When we saw it getting crowded,
we knew we were headed in the right direction.
Here we are walking on Hollywood Blvd.
When we arrived at the TCL Chinese Theatre,
we went inside of the outdoor mall that was next to it.
The mall was decorated for the Kids Choice Awards of 2015 by Nickelodeon.
Children could slime themselves!
…Or take pictures, with the ‘Real Life SpongeBob’,
in front of a SpongeBob car.
Here are some pictures,
inside the mall:
When we were done in the mall,
we continued down the Walk of Fame.
When Jan saw a Hooters he made this look and said “Let’s get in!”
The TLC Chinese Theatre was extremely crowded but we did not know why.
Then, we found out it was the premiere of Get Hard.
We walked by and saw Kevin Hart, the main character of the film.
At the same time T.I. was also giving an interview.
Because it was so crowded due to the Premiere, we were not able to see the TLC Chinese Theatre up close.
Here are some hard working cops:
There is also a Ripley’s Believe It or Not,
on Hollywood Blvd.
After we saw most of Hollywood Blvd,
we headed to the Griffith Observatory, to look at the nightly view of LA.
Here are the stars we saw on our walk:
Manhattan Beach
After Marlise and Jan visited my company,
we went to Manhattan Beach.
For a lunch and to relax on the beach.
But first, Jan had to figure out how the parking meters worked.
Quite a strugle, so after a few times trying, he gave up.
But after I gave it a try,
we noticed something was wrong with his credit card.
When we had some credit on our meter,
we searched for a restaurant with a terrace, for lunch.
Eventually we decided to try out the Kettle.
Jan liked it so much,
that he wanted his whole face to enjoy it.
After lunch it was time to chill at the beach.
We walked downwards on Manhattan Beach Bvld,
towards the beach.
Manhattan Beach is a really nice beach,
with a pier and a lot of surfers.
So you always have something to look at.
After we had some sun,
a swim and looked at the surfers for a while,
it was time to go.
But first we went on the pier,
to check out the view.
After that we went back to my place.
Visiting the Hoover Dam
A new morning, a new day!
Because we were not sure if we would drive back to LA
after seeing the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon,
so we didn’t book an extra night in that hotel and we had to check out.
This time it was a quick check out, because you could do it over the TV.
After we checked-out, grabbed our luggage and drove to the Hoover Dam.
Before you can enter the Hoover Dam,
you have to go through a Police Check Point.
But I can’t understand why, b
ecause they don’t even look at you, they just give a signal/gesture you can drive along.
Once we were in, we saw the Hoover Dam and it’s quite an impressive dam!
It’s huge and Vegas is almost completely relying on that dam, to get their power.
After we parked our car, some luxury cars were passing us.
I can admit the sound was awesome, because of the echo the dam created.
When the guy in the Lamborghini saw I was making pictures,
he gave me the thumbs up and made some extra noise.
After they passed us, we had a look at the Hoover Dam again and its surroundings.
There are a lot of people trying to throw money in to the dam for good luck,
but a lot of the money doesn’t even get in to the water.
So it’s a funny sight too see it lying around on those rocks.
After that, we walked towards the Hoover Dam,
to have a look on both sides.
After an hour or more, we decided we also wanted to see it from the bridge.
So we had to drive towards an other parking, where you could take some stairs to get onto the bridge.
Once your parked and walked all the stairs,
the first thing you see, is that it is an Memorial Bridge.
After that you see, your going to enter Arizona, by walking over the bridge.
And of course if you walk the opposite way, back to the car, that you will enter Nevada.
Here I am, walking over the Hoover Dam Bridge.
Here it is, the view you’ll get, when you are in the middle of the bridge.
Once we had enough of the Hoover Dam,
we went to a viewpoint, to see the Colorado River.
After we had a late lunch with a view over the Colorade River,
it was time to continue our trip towards the Grand Canyon.
Happy workplace, happy colleagues
It was lunchtime again, so I joined my colleagues for some sushi.
Once we ordered, the chefs started making our menu’s immediately.
And here’s the result.
If I look at those faces, I think they like it :).
Lunchtime, Chick-Fil-A
Lunchtime again 🙂
Some people of the office suggested to go to Chick-Fil-A.
When I asked what it was they told me, it would be the best chicken burger you can get, in a fast food restaurant.
So I joined them, because I wanted to try it out.
The fast food chain is very religious, so its closed on Sunday and they want share their story, with all the clients
It was unbelievable crowded inside, but also in the drive-in.
I’m starting to believe it has to be a great chain for chicken burgers.
After one bite, I was convinced.
Even for a fast food restaurant, they had quiet tasty chicken burgers.
Lunch with the sales-team at WurstKuche
Today the sales-team went to Venice, for Lunch, at the Wurstkuche.
The lunch, was a gift from the company, because we were preforming at top level :).
Wurstkuche is known for their exotic sausages sandwiches, with “Belgian Fries” and a lot of imported beers.
So we were in for a treat!
Here we are, on our way to the restaurant.
Nathan was taking his time, to take the wright sausage.
He chose the Rattlesnake & Rabbit with Jalapeño Peppers sausage.
When it was my turn to choose a sausage, I freezed.
There were so many choices!
Eventually I chose the Buffalo, Beef, & Pork with Chipotle Peppers sausage sandwich.
It looks like everybody was very happy with their pick.
